About The Cultural Caravan

Experience something truly special—an intimate evening of just cello and guitar as Josh Halpern and Hao Yang perform Manuel de Falla’s beloved 7 Canciones populares españolas and Matthius Duplessy’s evocative Sonata for Cello and Guitar in Four Dreams, alongside solo works including Joaquín Turina’s Sevillana for guitar and selections from Cassadó’s Suite for Solo Cello.

This marks an exciting new partnership for the Cultural Caravan as we make our debut at The New Local’s intimate arts venue  in collaboration with the Boulder Ensemble Theater Company.

Unlike the Cultural Caravan’s larger ensemble concerts later in the week, this intimate setting lets you hear these two instruments in their purest form—solo and duo works that showcase the individual artistry of our featured musicians.

From Spanish folk songs reimagined for cello and guitar to contemporary works that push musical boundaries, this is your chance to experience world-class chamber music in one of Boulder’s most exciting cultural spaces. The small venue means every note will be crystal clear and every musical conversation unmissable.
