ABOUT THE PLAY

2026 Tony Award for Best Play
2026 Pulitzer Prize for Drama
Colorado Premiere and New York Times Critic’s Pick

It’s 1970 in a small town in Ohio. Lizzie’s mother gathers an intimate circle of women to talk.

Talking quickly becomes a necessary and bracingly funny means to change their own lives and the  world.

Fifty years later, Lizzie is shocked to find herself posing the very same questions her mother asked and embarks on an epic search to find the answers.

From Tony Award nominee Bess Wohl comes a provocative, revealing and irreverent jolt of a play about  what really goes on when women meet behind closed doors.
