About the Play

Having thrilled audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, BETC favorite Tamara Meneghini and her artistic collaborators now bring their riveting, one-woman show to Boulder!

This passionate and revealing play – threaded throughout with the monarch’s own words and passages from Shakespeare’s plays – shares the humanity, demands, and deep complication of being a woman and a leader nearing the end of her life.

CAST

Tammy L. Meneghini is thrilled to be collaborating with BETC in bringing the premiere full-length version of Elizabeth I: In Her Own Words, to audiences for the first time, in collaboration with Dr. Carole Levin. Last summer, the shorter version was featured at festivals including Edinburgh Fringe, E2E-New York, and Denver Fringe, where it was an audience favorite. We are excited to embark on this new imagining of Elizabeth and are grateful to BETC for agreeing to support our premiere. Huge shout out to Jess and Mark for your continued collaboration and contributions and to all the artists and community folks who have supported this project recently and from its humble beginning.  More information: tamarameneghini.com.
